The AAIM Annual Meeting is a structured program using academic and industry experts who provide excellent learning opportunities for medical directors and underwriters. The meeting focuses on the latest medical advances relevant to insurance medicine and provides the unique core skills and knowledge that set medical directors apart from other doctors.


To provide Insurance Medical Directors with lifelong quality education that develops and increases knowledge, competence and professional skills used in life, health, disability and long-term care insurance. This will be accomplished through the offering of diverse educational activities including seminars, conferences, lectures and workshops using effective learning methods as approved by the American Academy of Insurance Medicine.

The Academy will also endeavor to assist other organizations with an interest in insurance medicine and who provide quality education to their membership by providing joint sponsorship for approved programs.


• To provide both new and experienced medical directors with the latest clinical and risk classification information for a wide variety of medical impairments.

• To present important topics from our Core Body of Knowledge that are not covered in other educational activities.

Closing date for registration for this course is August 1, 2019. This course is limited to the first 30 registrants with payment received. Following receipt of the completed registration form and fee, course materials will be sent to each participant. This registration is non-refundable once paid.

Hop aboard the Old Town Trolley private tour with your AAIM friends and colleagues. More than just a sightseeing tour, it is a fun and educational adventure as your trolley conductor provides an entertaining narration that includes little known facts and behind-the-scenes tips. Highly recommended for those making their first trip to Nashville.

After a brief walk over to the Ryman Auditorium, join knowledgeable guides for a backstage tour through the dressing rooms where everyone from Garth Brooks to Beck prep for their time on our famous stage. Each room is specially decorated with local art, rare vintage photos and priceless memorabilia to honor the stars of the Ryman’s rich musical past, including Johnny Cash, Hank Williams and Minnie Pearl.

You’ll also get the chance to stand on the stage and in the wings, soaking up every drop of music history in the very spaces where Louis Armstrong, James Brown, Katharine Hepburn and so many others stood under the lights. Following the tour you will walk over to Etch for a delicious lunch. Chef Deb Paquette is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and is the first woman to quality as a certified executive chef in Tennessee.

The Omni Nashville Hotel will be the venue for the 2019 AAIM Annual Meeting. Boasting its location - steps away from the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and Music City Center - and its luxurious accommodation, we are certain you will enjoy your time here!

AAIM has secured a discounted rate of $299 USD per night (single or double occupancy) plus all taxes and applicable fees. This rate is available until Friday August 23, 2019 or until the room block has been sold out. This is on a first come, first serve basis. After that point, any new reservations will be subject to availability at the daily rate applicable at the time of reservation.

Cancellation Policy

Refunds of registration fees, less a $100 USD administration fee, will be issued for cancellations received by August 16, 2019. If you are unable to attend, you may substitute someone in your place. Cancellation for optional activities must be received by August 30, 2019. No refunds will be issued after these dates. All cancellation and substitution requests must be received in writing by email to aaim@unconventionalplanning.com. Refunds will be processed after the meeting.
